The turntable and vernier can be locked in the selected position.
The lower landing surface is ground, equipped for storing centering stones.
Vertex table grooves are suitable for clamping 3-jaw chucks, which is ideal for machining rotary parts. In the same way, four-jaw chucks can be easily clamped, which are suitable for machining squares and polygons (which is less common), but at the same time, they have lower accuracy (centering) when machining rotary parts - precisely because of clamping by 4 jaws. For this reason, we recommend always using a 3-jaw chuck - if possible.
On the market, you can find similar less precise tables with four grooves, but these are not ideal for clamping 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks - clamping a chuck that has 3 clamping holes on 4 grooves is complicated - it is necessary to find / make an intermediate flange.
