Smaller diameters can be drilled at higher speeds, with increasing drilling diameter cutting speed is required and reduce the speed. Failure to maintain the speed or overheating the drill may cause it to become dull.

Transitions to a larger diameter also perfectly needle the drilled hole.

The straight groove drill is ideal for drilling in hand and cordless drills. Also suitable for thin sheets. Holes up to a diameter of 40 mm can be drilled in the hand in this way.
