General information on choosing the right holder: Holders type "S" - with screw clamping are suitable for common to finishing operations. They are suitable for smaller material removals. The inserts in these holders have a positive insert back, which enables sharper insert geometries and thus the possibility of achieving a better surface quality. Holders of type "P", "M", "T", "C" and "D" with clamping per inch or clamp are suitable for common to roughing operations - they have higher rigidity. The inserts in these holders have a negative (straight) insert back, thanks to which the inserts do not break out / deform so much and it is possible to roughen them with better and to machine even harder machinable materials.
